I know she looks gorgeous in everything - but I particularly love this outfit on her. Awww our shoot was soo much fun, man I will miss her - but hey skype really makes it easy to stay connected (my new favorite thing since Christchurch dispersed my fellow residence all over the place).

Here is the other underbust corset I had Rachel wear for our speedy shoot.....

and the underbusts keep coming.....
Here's the other underbust I finished this week, another size 21" - again in the hope of getting some quick pics before my friend/model moves away in a few weeks.
A touch of flossing here too, just a little to tie the white lace in more.
The wedding order I've been working on is coming along nicely, we had another fitting last night. There are some changes on the original design, which includes more bones and now no collar as this suits Niki's figure more (for modesty reasons the bustline is extra high). Should be all finished up next week including the skirt. Then it's straight onto the next order!

Little Leather Underbust
My little leather underbust is finished, the celtic knot looks great and I'm pleased with the shape too. Hopefully I can get some quick pics on Rachel before she heads to Oz, hence the small size - 21" (as she is my most petite casual model). You can see my earlier post about making it here:-

Anyway onto the finished pics....
*On a personal note I have to admit I'm feeling pretty tired right now, my gorgeous wee lady is 6 months - have I mentioned this is just the best age, so cute and super fun!! But unfortunately some of that early sleep deprivation has finally kicked in with regular moments of airheaded hillarity in real time.... LOL (yes all I can do is laugh at these purely perfect examples of mummy brainess). And just because that's not enough I also have 2 very pretty pre teens, one of which is my son, who seems to have that 'Johnny Depp' vibe with the girls already!!! Seriously fun times to come I imagine - it all keeps me on my toes anyway. Blessed indeed :P

I'm thinking about adding more flossing, despite my 50 billion embroidery threads I didn't have enough black so didn't get to keep goin with it.

Leather Knot Work....
I'm one of those people that always has a few things on the go, it usually means a lounge project (something crafty for in front of the tv), an order, and a random corset or two - just because.....This means I work across the board and everything ends up broken down into mouth size bites, so depending how I'm feeling or how much time I have I can always find something suitable to work on (and yes my beautiful little family has something to do with this)!
Currently I have a couple of orders that are just about to become more central in this mix, but before I get too busy lets look at what I've been doing for the last wee while, that is aside form adorning my lovely family in warming crochet goodies :)
I started this embroidered leather front panel while I was pregnant, but ended up putting it down, because if you haven't tried it.... well *this would be where I inserted swear words* it's hard work!

Thankfully after a wee break I've picked it up and happily continued, pliers and thimble in hand.
I think all my work doing 'Underworld' Replicas certainly inspired this, actually I have a few other 'leather knot work' pieces I'm excitedly planning for the future (fingers crossed).
So this week I actually got it to the shell stage......hurray it is actually starting to look like a corset.
I still have flossing detail to add, so I won't get to put away my thimble and pliers just yet!
But over all it is coming along nicely! It should have a 22" finished waist and be suitable for tightlacing. I already have plans for a matching outfit - think winter!!

Mock ups and flossing samples......
The new 'Dita' style corset is coming along nicely, I've made my first basic mock up for Ruby Ruin......
It's just a basic shell, but it's great getting to this stage because once it's made up I feel more confidence with my drafted pattern and can gage what adjustments I may need (also another collar mockup).
My next move in this case will be making a completed mock up with bones, so I can finalize the fit before I begin on the actual finished corset. We're heading off on a fabric hunting mission over the weekend - exciting, I feel like I haven't been to a fabric store in way too long!
Now onto 'Flossing'.....
I've made a few flossing samplers as I'm super keen to make a corset with lots of flossing detail at some stage over this coming year.
My lovely stock pile of coloured cottons at the ready for further experiments and samples......

*NOTE:- a rather handy tip via Alexis Black from 'ElectraDesigns' which I received after I posted this to my facebook 'try running your floss through beeswax, then passing it under a hot iron before flossing. It will reduce the fuzziness and make it more manageable.' Looks like I might be doing some more sampling :)
